In A Nutshell

As we continue the work of the organisation and as we introduce new colleagues into the organisation we identify both problems and opportunities for our existing culture. We acknowledge the existence of problems and opportunities and work collaboratively to refine our understanding. We offer the opportunity to experiment in different ways to resolve problems and to take advantage of opportunities.

Changes to the culture of the organisation may embrace any combination of:

  • Organisational purpose

  • Values and behaviours

  • Guiding principles

  • Structures

  • Roles

  • Ways of working

Each experiment is carefully defined with particular attention being paid to the hypothesis to be tested and how the outcomes will be observed and measured. The organisation learns from the results of the different experiments. It collaborates to decide how the experiments will influence the definition of its future culture and how these changes will be deployed across the organisation.

We Consistently Experiment To Improve Our Culture

When we identify problems or opportunities to improve our culture we collaborate to identify root causes and potential solutions.

We define experiments to help us identify the best changes. We specify the hypothesis and the indicators of proof and disproof. Each indicator has associated metrics that are used to assess the condition of the indicator.

Experiments are executed and their outcomes are tracked.

Basded on the outcomes of the experiments the organisation decides which changes to make to its defined culture.

Action plans are formed and the chosen improvements to culture are implemented and deployed. The organisation measures the progress and consequences of the change.
